In the beginning…

The idea for a food truck had two major sources: the first came from our love of street food. Our trips to New York City to visit friends and family are not complete unless we visit one of the food kiosks that are peppered on nearly every street corner in Midtown Manhattan.

If you have never had the pleasure of trying the lamb kebab, I highly recommend it next time you are in NYC.

Of course, the Triangle Area also has amazing street food options. We have many favorites, and have fond memories of devouring tacos after a night out with friends.

Our second inspiration came when one of our co-founders worked for a Polish deli. Being a Southern girl, she had not been exposed to the delicacies of Eastern European cuisine. Getting the opportunity to taste some of the highest quality delicatessan meats, cheeses, and pastries for the first time broadened her horizons, and she could never look back.

And so, The Flying Pierogi was born. Street food we love, and Polish favorites we can’t live without.  We hope you enjoy our labor of love!
